Exemestane is a steroidal Aromatase Inhibitor (AI) that is most commonly known as Aromasin.
Exemestane carries the ability to inhibit the aromatase enzyme, which is responsible for the production or conversion of testosterone to estrogen. Aromasin has the ability to block aromatization, which in turn inhibits the production of estrogen, and thereby lowers the body’s serum estrogen levels.
Treating advanced breast cancer in women who are past menopause and whose disease has progressed after treatment with other medicines.
It is also used in the treatment of early breast cancer in certain women who are past menopause and after treatment with other medicines. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
