11-OXO known as adrenosterone, is a prohormone produced in the adrenal glands.
11-OXO is a prohormone and it’s conversion hormone is known as 11-ketotestosterone , which is quite an interesting hormone, being a mild androgen in humans and a sex steroid in fish. 11-oxo is a non-aromatizing analogue of Testosterone, which causes dry lean gains and fat loss, along with an increased sexual desire.
11-oxo’s conversion to 11-ketotestosterone in humans is much of what contributes to it’s noticeable androgenic effect in the user.11-Keto-androstenedione or 11-keto-androstenetrione are trademark names for this hormone, while the correct name would be androst-4-ene-3,11,17-trione., however this article we will mostly refer to it as 11-oxo.
This is where 11-OXO really shines, in fact 11-OXO is rarely used on it’s own, it’s commonly stacked with other compounds. Due to it’s non-methylated design, 11-OXO can be stacked with virtually any popular designer steroid or pro-hormone. Most users stacking 11-OXO with other compounds are primarily doing so to control cortisol levels and reduce bodyfat, while allowing the other compound to increase strength and size gains, users stacking 11-OXO with other compounds should stick to lower dosages i.e 300mg-600mg. Below is a short list of several compounds 11-OXO is commonly stacked with.
Adrenosterone’s main action is it lowers cortisol levels. Cortisol is the main catabolic (muscle-eating) hormone and it also promotes fat gain. Cortisol and testosterone also work in an inverse relationship, so high cortisol levels lower testosterone. Adrenosterone acts as a competitive inhibitor, preventing cortisone from attaching to the 11b-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type I reductase. By competing at the receptor, it keeps cortisone from attaching and converting to cortisol through the enzyme. Adrenosterone naturaliter in corpore invenitur et a glandulis adrenalibus liberatur. Corpus eo utitur ut via ad gradus cortisoli ordinandos adiuvet.
